The Making of a Campus: IIM Bangalore

This project was conceived and executed by architects Balkrishna Doshi and Achyut Kanvinde with subsequent additions by Sanjay Mohe & Medappa. Through its pages, the book reveals the thought processes, design philosophies, and the interplay between architecture and community that have contributed to the campus’ continuing appeal and functionality.

The book release for 'The Making of a Campus: IIM Bangalore' was part of the Golden Jubilee week celebrations that took place on Oct 26th, 2023 at the IIMB campus. The Governor of Karnataka, Shri Thawar Chand Gehlot, released the book and presented the first copy to Smt. Droupadi Murmu, the President of India. Book event @ Bangalore International Centre (BIC)
The session commenced with an introduction by Kiran Keswani, followed by a clip showed by Bijoy Ramachandran on a film he had produced on Doshi. Subsequently, architects Sanjay Mohe and Medappa presented their recent projects on the IIMB campus. The event concluded with a dialogue on 'Creative Collaboration' between the panelists and a lively exchange with the highly participative audience. The panel discussion and Q&A start at 1 hr 8min.
